We are a passionate team of engineers and Ph.D. researchers who want to change the way enterprises manage their databases. Founded in 2020 on the simple idea of using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to make databases more autonomous.
Our mission is to empower businesses to achieve the full potential of their databases, so they can achieve peak performance, seamless user experiences, and optimize their cloud spend.

Our story
We’re a Stanford University spin-off founded by Dr. Luigi Nardi, a machine learning professor, who spent 8 years developing optimization algorithms to tackle complex real-world problems ranging from hardware design to robotics and computer vision.
This research was recognized by PostgreSQL Core Team member Magnus Hagander who saw in it the key to solving critical database tuning challenges. DBtune's core technology was born, delivering faster queries, significant cost savings, and a reduced environmental footprint for businesses across the globe.
